1956
Several years ago, my son, Seth, sponsored an art show - the first of two dozen or so - at his San Diego studio (Seth Sabal Studio). My contribution was a series of large (50 x 50 and 20 x 60) quasi-popart, sort of street art, paintings of icons of the year 1956. There was once an Elvis, too. They all found homes except for James Dean which I kept for myself. Seth's friend and fellow photographer, Monica Hoover, kept up the monthly art shows for almost two years and featured many local artists including a one-man show of Shepard Fairey's street art.
